Laura Sesso – Middle School Guide‘Ms. Sesso’ attended the University of Oklahoma and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art History and a Master of Library & Information Studies. She also holds Oklahoma state teaching credentials for Pre Kindergarten – 12th Grade and taught at all levels over a period of fifteen years. She also worked as the Academic Librarian at Rogers State University. She received her AMS Montessori Secondary 1 certification and has been the Middle School Guide at Undercroft for the past 4 years. Her son, who has attending Undercroft from age 3, is one of this year’s 8th Grade Graduates. |
Jessica Helms – Middle School InternJessica Helms graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, majoring in secondary education. She holds a state teaching credential and has taught high school science for three years in the public school system. Since first learning about Montessori education in undergraduate school, Jessica hoped for an opportunity to pursue Montessori education. She was attracted by the principles that facilitate self-initiated learning, and convinced that the Montessori approach to education provides the best means to instill curiosity and love of learning in her students. This summer, she will complete her secondary training at the Houston Montessori Center and is working toward certification as a Montessori guide by the summer of 2011. |
